Just for fun:
What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Run a half marathon. Start law school.
Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I'm more of a life-long resolution than a new year's resolution kind of guy, so I didn't really have any to keep.
Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, Oliver and Zu gave birth to a baby girl, Zoe
Did you know anybody who passed away?
I don't think so, not this year.
Where did you go on vacation?
My new year started on a trip back from Florida. Then shortly after I went to Duluth for a birdwatching trip. I also went to Oregon for a wedding, Arizona to visit my grandfather, and San Antonio for a fun getaway weekend.
What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
A plate on the wall of the flying saucer
What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
June 2nd pops into my mind: the first day of classes at law school. It was the beginning of a whole new course of my life.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Completing the Houston Half Marathon
What was your biggest failure?
Having to walk most of the Half Marathon due to a knee injury.
Did you suffer illness or injury?
I had a knee injury that needed some rehab after the half marathon. I have that same knee injury now. I got really sick with a cold last year in Florida, but I think I was over it by the time 2008 rolled around.
What did you purchase that was over$100?
Holy crap... I'm going to omit stuff bought for the house renovations/repairs, because it would take up half a page. I bought a plane ticket to Oregon, which was like $600 round trip. I also bought Rock Band for the PS2, which cost over $100. I can't think of anything else. All my money went to my house :( I think I also paid for one or two dinners where the bill was over $100.
What sporting events did you attend?
I managed to make it out to one Astros game with James. I also made it out to the UNT @ Rice football game where UNT got clobbered.
What concerts/shows did you go to?
None that I can remember. I went to see Reverend Horton Heat, but I think that was late 2007.
Favorite night out?
I had a blast at Erick's 200th beer party. The Ice skating afterward was really fun, even though Aaron broke his leg.
What have been your favorite moments?
Spending time with friends.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
I was pretty excited when I finished the half marathon. I get really excited going on road trips (twice to DFW this year) where I get to plan little stops along the way. I was really exicted about my birding trip to Duluth where I got to experience real cold, and met a great friend in Mel.
What song will always remind you of 2008?
I can't think of any

What do you wish you'd done more of?
Birdwatching

I regret nothing
How did you spend Christmas?
Christmas eve was at our place with George and Liz, watching A Christmas Story, then Christmas Brunch was at their place in Baytown.

I always try to be nice

I can't name just one

Flirted with, yes, hit on, probably not (unless you count my wife)
Did you fall in love in 2008?
I didn't fall out of it!
What is the ONE thing you thought you would not do, but did, in 2008?
Take up cycling
What were your favorite TV programs?
Eh, I don't feel like answering this
Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't hate people
What was the best book you read?
Constitutional Law? I didn't have time to read for pleasure
What was your greatest musical discovery?
I didn't listen to much music this year
What did you want and get?
A Wii!
What was your favorite film of this year?
Probably Dark Knight
Have any car accidents?
Yes, but there was no damage to either car
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
I can't think of anything
How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
Glasses are cool?
Do anything embarrassing?
I inadvertently called a black man a "Chevron Monkey", not knowing the connotation behind it.
What kept you sane?
Exercise, definitely
Other than home, where did you spend most of your time?
Work and UH
Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Obama, I guess.

What are you looking forward to most in 2009?
Two half marathons, elective law classes, San Antonio Rock and Roll Marathon. Possible South American vacation for spring break. It's going to be a good year!
