May 28, 2008:
It's been a while since I've made a post, so I'll quickly recap the major stuff.
I went to my cousin's wedding in Oregon on the 8th of May. It was really great to see my extended family again. The only two cousins that couldn't make it were my brother (not enough money) and Hillary (just had a baby). For the most part the weekend was about spending time with family, but Pam and I managed to sneak off with my parents to go to the Portland Saturday Market to get new catnip logs. While there, Pam spotted an amazing framed photograph that I thought would be perfect in our newly renovated bathroom:

This photo just spoke to me
The ceremony itself was a very traditional Christian wedding, which was expected since they both met as missionaries in (then) Zaire. It was at a winery, but since it was May, none of the vines had started to grow yet. It was unfortunate, and a little sad, but they were about to start their life together in Singapore, so this was the only time they could do it.

You may now kiss the bride
The following weekend was my law school orientation. It was pretty much everything I expected it to be. The Dean came out and said how great the school was, then the assistant dean came out and explained how law school is different from every other graduate work, and told us how we should be studying. Then we broke into mentor groups and had a tour with Q&A. Back to the original room, we got the technology spiel.
After the orientation, I went to the Student Bar Association "meet and greet" at a bar in midtown. It's really interesting being in grad school. All through undergrad and paralegal school, I always felt like one of the smartest people in the room. In law school, it seems to be the opposite. Everyone is insanely smart; you pretty much have to be to get accepted to UH. I barely got in, so that means I'm at the lower end of the spectrum. And since classes are based on a curve, It will be interesting to see how it pans out.
The following weekend was painting. Lots and lots of painting. At least we got to paint in color! We painted the ceiling in the bathroom and put two coats of light green on the wall, and also put two coats of orange on the front room.
