It's been a while since I've updated this blog, so here is everything at once.
First of all, I've been studying for the LSAT and I finally took it on December 1st. I should get the results back in about a week, so keep your fingers crossed for me.
Today I realized just how close the Half Marathon is and just how far behind I am in training due to my foot injury. This Saturday is the 13 mile run before the cool-down period before the actual half marathon. Yes, we are actually supposed to do a full-length half marathon weekend run before the actual half-marathon.
Now there are only 4 more long runs before the half marathon, and I'm only at 5-6 miles, with doctor's orders to only increase one mile per week. That just isn't going to cut it. I'm going to die half-marathon day if I keep increasing and increasing with no real break. So I've decided I'm going to walk/run the whole 13 miles this weekend. No nancy-ing out for me! I figure if I can at least run two miles for every 3 miles I go, I should still finish in under three hours without too much stress on my foot. Also note that there has been zero pain in my foot for over three weeks now.
I went camping this last weekend, and you can read about it in my bird blog (once I actually get around to writing about it).
Next up is my driving adventure to Florida. It normally takes two days, and can be finished in one, but we've decided to do a relaxed three day pace on the way there. I'm planning on going parallel to I-10, but north of it, through Louisiana/Mississippi/Alabama, then straight through Florida on interstates the last day (making a quick county detour on the way).
