New Computer, Weekend in Austin, and Ulcers, Oh My!

August 13, 2007:

So after the downfall of all three of our computers in as many months, I went against every geek bone in my body and bought a brand-new gateway computer (as opposed to upgrading/building my own).  So far I'm impressed.  I am really liking this wide inch screen :)

It's a AMD dual core 5000+, but so far it doesn't seem much faster than my old 2800+.  I suppose that's because it has Vista on it, which is a little more graphically intensive.

I also went to Austin this last weekend to visit my brother who was visiting from Florida.  We almost didn't go because of all the stuff we had to do to get ready to move here in Houston.  My parents bribed us with moving help next weekend and we figured it was a pretty good compromise.

Unfortunately, I got sick!  I had a sore throat since last Tuesday, that just kept getting worse and worse and worse.  I went to the doctor today, expecting strep throat, but instead got virus+throat ulcer.  I didn't even know you could get ulcers on your throat!  He gave me some meds and I should be able to get back to packing any my busy week at work tomorrow :(
