Bolvar Flats Shorebird Sanctuary

Yesterday Pam, Conan, and I went to the Bolivar Flats Shorebird Sanctuary, a short ferry ride from Galveston. I managed to jump my life list up by 13! New birds I saw were a Black-bellied Plover, Snowy Plover, Wilson's Plover, Semipalmated Plover, Ruddy Turnstone, Short-billed Dowitcher, Ring-billed Gull, Caspian Tern, Herring Gull, Long-billed Dowitcher, Semipalmated Sandpiper, Marbled Godwit, Long-billed Curlew, and Lesser Yellowlegs.
After eating pizza and subs at a local restaurant, we went to the rainforest section of Moody Gardens in Galveston. It had a lot of interesting wildlife to look at, as well as numerous types of Macaws. They also had carniverous fish, small mammals, and vampire bats. It was fun! We were all exhausted after this, so we went home.
I'm sorry, I hadn't been updating very much. Since my last update, I've started class, while working full time, and then moved all my belongings 50 miles. I also did a 4-day round trip to Tucson for my grandfather's 80th birthday. I really wanted to make a map journal about it, but I just didn't have enough drive to. So I haven't been dead, just not interested in writing. I'm going to try to keep more on top of it!
