Ok, new travel plans are set.  I cancelled my hotel reservation in Dothan, AL (since there is no way in hell I'll be able to drive through the Florida Panhandle), and I got a new reservation in Birmingham.  I was originally thinking Montgomery, but Birmingham is futher north and it will still get me to Atlanta and back on track to my missing state of South Carolina :)

Not taking my scheduled scenic route in Alabama on the second day is also going to make my second day a more leisurley drive, which is also not a bad thing.
